Acura Integra Type R

Integra Type R is Acura's quickest, best-handling and loudest edition of the least inexpensive near-luxury and luxury vehicle. But it is not designed to please everybody. It caters those car enthusiasts who want a racecar like handling and performance. Type R is a new sports coupe that was engineered with heavy emphasis on performance.

Along with low-friction pistons, high performance camshafts, larger diameter throttle body, Type R's engine supplies 195 horsepower at 8,000 rpms and its peak torque at 7,300. This engine has four valves per cylinder with Honda's Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control (VTEC). The Type R boasts its 4-wheel wishbone suspension that lends a very sporty like handling. Integra Type R was developed with top-notch performance in mind, while cornering, braking and overall handling.

Its suspension was aimed to provide responsive handling, outstanding traction, high cornering limits as well as reducing understeer and body roll. For improved nighttime illumination and contemporary appearance, Type R is offered with low-beam projector lamps that reach 13 feet farther and light up an area 20 percent greater than any other Integra. The high beams consisting of enhanced halogen lamp technology that reaches 125 feet farther and light up an area 2.5 times greater.

Type R's interior is designed to compliment Acura's character of being a fun and easy to drive car. It features sports seats, aluminum shifter knobs and controls that are tuned to perform under Acura's remarkable character. It comes with carbon fiber-like instrumentation design with special amber illumination.

The interior room is created like that of sports car to supply the driver an in control feeling. Other features that will make you fall in love with the Type R are power windows, locks and mirrors, rear window defroster and wiper, an eight-speaker stereo with CD player, height-adjustable steering wheel, 50-50 split folding fold down rear seatback and leather wrapped steering wheel.
