Integra was unveiled in 1986 as a component of the brand new upscale division
of Honda, the Acura division. Being based on the humble Honda Civic, the Acura Integra instantly experience success in sales. It provides an ideal blend of sporty nature,

In 1997, the biggest news was the launching of the limited edition Acura Integra
Type R. It was undeniably a race car powered by a heavily modified 1.8-liter engine
that breathes 195 horsepower. With the use of lightweight parts, and the removal
of sunroof, air conditioning and sound deadening, this car lost 93 pounds. It
is offered with front and rear spoilers, lightweight aluminum alloy wheels and
sport-style seats.
The 2000 Integra was largely unchanged. All models now feature a tune-up interval
of 100,000 miles and have
successfully met the Transitional Low-Emission Vehicle status. Also, theft-deterrent
system is added. The 1996 Acura Integra was a carry-over of the 1995 model year.
The Integra was also carried over for 1998. It is marked with the return of Type
R with a standard rear wiper. For 2001 model year, the Integra sedan comes with
an emergency trunk opener and all models receive standard carpeted floor mats.
