Acura Integra engine
Acura Integra will always amaze you with its sleek and streamlined design but
that's only half of what Integra has. Beneath its state-of-the-art exterior, the
Integra houses the most powerful engine that you can find. Acura Integra's engine
is known for its power, speed and reliability.
Except for Type R and GS-R trims, Integras are offered with a 1.8 liter dual
overhead-cam 16-valve four-cylinder engine rated at 140 horsepower. This engine
is mated with an option between 5-speed manual overdrive and 4-speed automatic
transmission. The high-performance GS-R is equipped with a 1.8 liter, dual-overhead-cam
four-cylinder that has 16 valves and a high-tech intake system producing 170 horsepower.
This engine is coupled with Valve Variable Timing and Lift Electronic Control
that performs by changing the engine's valve time throughout the rpm range.
Powering the more active and race-ready Type R is a 195-horsepower four-cylinder
engine displacing 1.8-liters and having four valves per cylinder and dual overhead
cams. Like GS-R, it also come Honda's Variable Valve Timing and Variable Lift
Electronic Control. To reach utmost level of performance, engines should be given
top notch care.
There are tips that should be followed for proper maintenance and engine care.
Drivers should regularly check the water pump and change the timing balancer belts
every 84 months or every 105,000 miles. If the vehicle is working at extremely
low or high temperatures, the mentioned features should be replaced at 60,000
miles intervals.
