2001 Acura Integra

Refinement, price and performance can hardly be combined but Honda successfully
found a way to mix these three attributes in their line up of Acura Integra. The
2001 Integra family is made up of four coupes and three sedans in various trim
levels. The coupes line up comprises the LS, GS the high-performance GS-R and
the Type R while the sedans are composed of LS, GS and GS-R.
Fully packed with standard amenities, the LS and GS utilize the same 1.8-liter
dual overhead-cam 16-valve four-cylinder engine that puts out 140 horsepower.
This engine is offered with a choice of five-speed manual or four-speed automatic
transmission. The GS coupe and sedan added leather upholstery and a spoiler for
the coupe. The GS sedan receives special console, armrest and interior woodgrain for the
four-door.
The more powerful GSR-R models gain a 170-horsepower VTEC version of that same
engine attached to a close-ratio five-speed manual gearbox. Being a race-ready
machine, the Type R removes weight-adding luxuries like cruise control and power
moonroof to give way to the 195-horsepower engine aimed to rev more than 8,000
rpm together with larger brakes, high-performance tires, and its exceptional close
gearbox ratios and a torque-sensing helical limited-slip differential.
Getting inside, the seats are moderately firm with above average lateral support,
nicely adjustable and notable for giving long distance comfort. For 2001, Acura
sedan comes with a standard emergency trunk opener and all models possess carpeted
floor mats. Like any other Honda and Acura vehicles, the Integra is outfitted
with Honda's control arm suspension system with common spring and damping rates
right across the board. Integra
yield a comfortable ride quality and quick and precise handling responses.
The hottest in this class is the Type R. It is Acura Integra's quickest, best-handling-and
loudest version of low-priced model in Acura's line of near-luxury and luxury
vehicles. The R is offered with deep, racing-style bucket seats, leather-wrapped
steering wheel and shift knob, analog instrumentation, and a special ignition
key.
