For 2000, Acura remained largely unchanged. But the special strengths and attributes of this car make it the youngster's favorite. Acura Integra line up was made up of the best compilation of small sporty coupes and sedans in the industry. The 2000 Integra family is made up of coupes and sedans in LS, GS and GS-R models.

 The LS and GS trims are packed with all the necessary features including the 1.8-liter dual overhead-cam 16-valve four-cylinder engine that produces 140 horsepower. It is mated with a standard five-speed manual and a four-speed automatic transmission is offered as an option. The GS has an additional leather trim. GS-R models receives 170-horsepower VTEC version of the same engine.

The Type R model is offered a modified engine aimed to rev to 8,000 rpm for 195 horsepower. Type R is equipped with big brakes, a special close-ratio gearbox and a helical limited-slip differential. 2000 Integra's interior features slightly firm seats that are above average in lateral support, well adjustable gives better than average long distance comfort. It has a clear, simple and organized instrumentation and easy to locate controls.

To ensure safety, this year's Integra comes with dual front airbags built to give good crash protection. Anti-lock brakes are also standard on all 2000 Integras. Acura Integra has excellent dashboard that gives better forward sightlines.

Like any other Honda and Acura cars, Integra uses Honda's control arm suspension system with regular spring and shock absorber. It has a quick and precise handling and a comfortable ride quality. The suspension is really firm and the steering hits a perfect combination of power assist and sufficient road feel.

2000 Acura Integra

The Type R is the hottest thing in the line up. It has low-friction pistons, high-performance camshafts and larger diameter throttle body. Available standard features in Type R include power windows, power locks, power mirrors, rear window defroster and wiper washer, an eight-speaker stereo with CD player, height-adjustable steering wheel, 50-50 split fold height-adjustable steering wheel, 50-50 split fold down rear seatback and leather wrapped steering wheel.
